to list 100 items in one week when I've never sold anything on eBay before? IOW, how easy is it to fulfill sales? Am I going to get confused over who bought what, shipping notification, etc.?
I have a ton of curriculum materials to sell -- everything one of a kind -- and I really need to get it out of the house quickly. However, I've only purchased things on eBay before. Have never sold on eBay.
Help??? :o
Have you tried selling on these forums? I think it's easier (and it also doesn't cost you anything, unlike ebay). While I have sold on ebay before, I much prefer selling here. It's easier all around.

The problem is I have well over 100 items to sell and I need to get them out of the house quickly. The swap board limit here is 10 items per month.

This will be the 7th year I have done this. The first year I only had about 100 items. You do have to be very organized and very careful. I use Turbo lister(you can down load this free from ebay) and I use a standard format that I type into my word processing program and then copy and paste for each auction. I tried to sell on the board but very few items sold. I like selling it all on ebay at one time. My auctions will be starting on March 23rd and I will have about 30-50 starting each night after that for 10 days.

So combine those items by age range or grade level. People sell more than 10 items on here that's for sure.
Do you have any high school stuff? If you have a list, I'd be interested in looking at it.
Or, if you wish, I can host your entire list on my blog for you and you can direct people to it, that way you don't have to break any rules. And I won't charge you for it.
But with ebay, the only thing that one should do is keep a good list. Usually I print out my list of items for sale and then watch all of the auctions. In my email, I have folders set up for selling/buying. So since ebay mails you when you list an item, that goes in the sale folder. When it sells, the email stating so goes in the buy folder. It just helps me keep everyone in check. And the emails keep track of all the information for you so you don't have to do anything out of the ordinary.
It's really very easy. ;)

1. Start a separate folder in your e-mail account. Name it eBay, and keep all your correspondence in it. You will get lots of e-mails about things you've listed from both eBay and buyers.
2. Have a paypal account, and set a flat shipping rate per item. This will eliminate confusion and 'getting back to' people while you check on shipping.
3. Post-its. Lots of Post-its. Every time you list something for sell, eBay gives it a number. Write that number on a Post-it and stick it to the item. Later, you can write the selling price, buyer, and address on it for organization purposes.
4. Create a simple invoice where you can plug in the item number, buyer info., and item name and print it out to send with each item.
5. Choose a certain day to go to the post office, and put that in your selling info. Stating 'I mail out items on Monday and Wednesday' will eliminate extra questions about when you sent things, and keep you from running to the post office every day.
Hope these tips help you out!

I think it's fine, but I would suggest that you have only one or two mailing days and include it in your description, "Items will be mailed the Tuesday after payment is received," this helps me.

Thanks so much for the tips! I'm sure they are going to save me a lot of grief. I'm going to put up just a few items the first week to get my feet wet, then go whole-hog. I need to get all of this stuff out of the house by the end of March, as we are planning to put the house up for sale.
