Welp....maybe we covered some of them...but that was the biggest waste of my time EVER...never again....
I am back to checklists and do the next thing....ARG!!!!
I really wanted this to work out, but somehow my homeschool takes on a life of its own.
On the brighter side...My 5 year old can read...my 3rd grader can do long division....My 11th grader is chugging along...My 2 dd's in college BOTH made the Presidents list and got straight A's last semester...My 13 year old can finally write an essay AND he finished Algebra 1.....
So, plans or no plans...despite the fact that i am working 40+ hours a week from home....this homeschooling thing is still working...
Remind me in the Spring....NO EXTENSIVE WEEK LONG PLANNING SESSION!!!
LOL

Great job, whatever works, right? I hope I wasn't the one who talked you into summer planning http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/innocent/innocent0009.gif (http://www.emailblacklistcheck.com)

Faithe, based on that list, you should never fix something that is clearly not broken! What wonderful things to see in your children. Congratulations to them all! Good job Mom!

ONly a week?
Man, that's quick.
I spend all summer building my stuff. This year, tho, I'm doing a two year plan instead of one.
THings go much more smoothly for us during the year and I have a lot more control over everything if I plan with guidesheets.
Just me.

It isn't like I have any where else to go, anyway.

To work a 40+ work week and homeschool five kids - wow! :iagree: You are definitely doing something right.

At church today a friend said, "And how is the woman who does it all?"
The reality is that I DON'T DO IT ALL. There's a lot of things that many homeschool families do that ours doesn't even consider doing. I don't plan, and we have very few outside activities. Between working, homeschooling, house/yard, and caring for my disabled husband, there's not time for much else. And that's FINE!

I've done that a few times. I don't have a clue why I keep doing that because, to my recollection, I've never once followed these wonderful, elaborate plans I make.
I don't have any in college yet but I sure hope we manage something similar!

Thanks for the reminder to let things grow as they will.

I would love to hear from another working mom. I am a single parent who works and homeschools. I am beginning to get plans set for next year and would like to know what does and does not work for you.
Looking for suggestions...

I am working mom! But I admit that I do plan. It just makes it easier on me during the year. Even if we don't get everything done at least I have a guideline to follow and I know what we missed and we usually get to it over the summer. If I don't plan I end up panicking every Sunday night and trying to throw lesson plans together for the week.
