I must say I've come to these conclusions myself but always wondering if I was being a bit naive or ignorant. I think if we teach our children honesty & common sense, they are not in too much danger.

I'm half way through watching the TV show that is referenced (loading takes a while here) and that's worth seeing too. It's clear that there are dangers to obsessive internet use, but they are not the ones we usually think of.

I just keep thinking to myself, it is a whole different world out there than when I was growing up.

We worry about sudden things...planes crashing, predators but not cummulative dangers like poor health habits etc. It seems that there have been studies on this sort of thing. I think that our brains process threats to our (and our loved one's safety) differently than the long term dangers (like environmental issues).
