Grad school update: She didn't get into any of the schools she originally applied to, which was heartbreaking for her. She's going back to U of Indy for her Masters work. It's OK. I talked with her profs at the honor society awards a few weeks ago; they were just as stunned that she'd wasn't accepted by the other schools. One told me that another student had had the same thing happen, so she's not alone. It was hard for her to accept, but I think she's moved on and is excited about beginning a new program.

Sigh. I was curious about this but hesitated asking given the heartbreak involved. As I said before, I think that grad school applications are up and funding for certain programs is down. Ramifications of the economy can be a bitter pill to swallow.

But when it is all said and done, I have found in my life that the unexpected twists and turns are often for the best. Things Will Work Out. They always do.

So I wish your daughter well as she pursues her MA.
