How long are the classes? How much time would be spent on this a day?
Did you like the teacher?

I got a few answers to a similar question awhile back:

A couple of people gave their opinion of the teacher.

I believe the video portion runs about 30-45 minutes. Reading and other assignments would then take additional time. HTH

The BJU Biology DVD classes are 45 min.

I was a bit confused about the teacher mentioned in the other thread because the main DVD Biology teacher we have is Mrs. Ericson and she is fabulous! I wonder why BJU chose to use Miss Lacy's class for their DVD choice? That's interesting. As for Miss Lacy, though we do not have her for our Biology teacher, I did record her for Physical Science this year and from what I have seen she is great! Very energetic and fun. At first I was disappointed that we didn't get to record Mr. Harmon's Phy. Sci class, but I have thus far been very impressed with Miss Lacy.

My older boys did not mind the "class" interaction. Oftentimes the class children would ask relevant questions that would help clear up their own questions. And the class is not a classroom where you have a bunch of children in class with the teacher like Abeka. It's a completely different set up. All you see is the teacher, and the teacher is for the most part talking to your child as part of the overall "class"...but she will ask questions of the LINC students, and allow them to ask questions when needed. It also helps if your dc does the quizzes, homework problems, etc. when the class does as she may go over these in class with the students...and your child is considered a student.

It's not a perfect set-up, I prefer the pre-taped classes over the LINC as well, but it's not horrible by any means. All I know is that *I* could not teach science like BJU does. Plus, if your dc does not care for the teacher...well...welcome to real life! My boys have encountered some extremely odd and difficult teacher's in college. Extremely. High school is a good time for our kids to learn to deal with issues like that and work past it.
