Is this something my 12 and/or 15 yo would enjoy? They have not been to an opera before. Thanks!

Dh and I went to see this locally. The music was beautiful, but we kept wishing the woman would hurry up and die already. The main character is dying for about half the opera. She lies there on her death bed, gets up to sing, lies back down, sings some more, coughs and lies down, gets up to sing--endlessly. This is the only opera we've ever been to, and I've heard that it is not the best to start with and there are others that would be more entertaining and enjoyable. So, uh, no, I don't think they'd enjoy it. I think I could have enjoyed listening to a CD of the music at home, though.
