The hot water heater in our rental has been acting up for several weeks now. Big surprise that this morning, when it's below 20° wind chill here, it has gone out and won't stay lit. Mr. Landlord Dude has already been called (the one tiny advantage to renting!). Meanwhile, I guess it'll be our own version of Little House on the Prairie over here today.

"Half Pint, would you put on another pot of water to boil, please? I'll be done with this wood here shortly, and I'm mighty keen for a hot bath."

We have been through 2 hot water tanks in 7 years. The water at sea level is just lovely isn't it. Both times my dh has been the receiver of a cold shower. OK I admit it made my ds and I laugh , dh is not exactly fond of cold showers
It is cold here this morning isn't it. Well at least the sun is out. Think warm thoughts and hopefully your landlord with have it fixed or replaced quickly.
