Our daughter is finishing 9th grade. She went through the Official SAT book this year. Is there anything that might be helpful for reviewing this summer? I'd especially like to work on vocabulary. I've seen BootCamp for your Brain...any thoughts on that?

For vocabulary, I'd recommend as much reading as possible -- fiction, non-fiction, and periodicals. Have her read with a dictionary nearby in case she is stumped by a new word. Perhaps she could make an index card for each new word she encounters.

If you look in the test prep section of your local bookstore, you may find some books that highlight vocabulary study. For example,

The War of the Worlds: A Kaplan SAT Score-Raising Classic by H.G. Wells (http://http://www.amazon.com/War-Worlds-Kaplan-Score-Raising-Classic/dp/1419593285/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1240952581&sr=1-7)

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde: A Kaplan SAT Score-Raising Classic by Robert Stevenson (http://www.amazon.com/Dr-Jekyll-Mr-Hyde-Score-Raising/dp/1419542273/ref=pd_bxgy_b_text_c)

or a fluffier book:

Tooth and Nail: A Novel Approach to the New SAT by Charles Harrington Elster (http://www.amazon.com/Tooth-Nail-Novel-Approach-New/dp/0156013827/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1240952581&sr=1-12)

and this is a fun approach:

Vocabulary Cartoons: SAT Word Power by Samuel A. Burchers (http://www.amazon.com/Vocabulary-Cartoons-SAT-Word-Power/dp/0965242234/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1240952804&sr=1-1).

Also have her do the SAT problem of the day!
