Children with severe anxiety

Hey Everyone,

I have been doing research around the internet because my son seems to have some form of severe anxiety. I have found several websites around and I wanted to get some advice about this condition. I dont know if its growing pains or what but I want to get to the bottom of this.

I really like this forum and I am looking forward to talking to everyone.

Is this a fairly sudden change for him or has he always had anxiety issues? If it is sudden, I would look at PANDAS---a strep related OCD/Anxiety.

How old is your son and what type of symptoms are you seeing?

Hey Ottakee,

My son is 10 years old and he seems to very avoidant of friends all of a sudden. This has been going on for several months. I hope this is just growing pains but thats why im here asking questions. I apprecate your response.

I know this is probably a no-brainer, but for it to be all of a sudden, have you asked him if anything has happened? Or if anything is bothering him?
