I do my major grocery shopping once a month, and then make only small trips once a week to "fill in the gaps". We are a family of 7 big eaters, and that's a LOT of groceries! Would you all take as many reusable bags as you need? That's a lot of bags. Do any of you take, like, 10 bags along when you do major shopping?
Thanks,

We do quarterly shopping in a city over an hour away at Sam's Club and a health food store. We bring cardboard boxes and a couple coolers with us to Sam's and the health food store since we are buying so much there at once. If I had as much shopping as you do, I would probably bring boxes instead of bags and reserve the bags for the weekly trip to get fresh veggies and milk. We use a large basket for our weekly veggie trip and reusable bags for the intermediate shopping we need to do between our big trips (for all the stuff we underestimated our need for or for the stuff we forgot).

I keep my cloth grocery bags in the car at all times and usually bring about 10 to 14 of them in with me. I hate getting plastic bags that I immediately have to recycle, so I just use my cloth ones, even the ones that I have resewn a few times! heck, at the local supermarket I'm probably known as the weird lady ;)who wears a snood and has all those cloth bags...oh well.

I own exactly 10 reusable bags and yep I take them all, all the time when I go. We're only a family of 5 so they may not use them all but I take them just in case there is an unadvertised sale and I need to stock up on something.
