Feeling sad that DH's Vas reversal hasn't worked. We were so sure that this was something we were supposed to do in obedience to God. It has been 3 years:(

Oh Amy, so sad for you. The number 3 is a complete number, so you never know. Maybe God just wanted his body to rest for this length of time. It's fun to keep trying though isn't it?

I'm really sorry. I wish you peace, or success, or both, in God's good timing. (Which doesn't always feel good, does it?)

I'm so sorry it isn't working! But, you can sure have fun trying, eh?!? ;) I pray God will give you contentment either way.

I'm sorry. It is very hard to step out in obedience and not to experience a sweet pregnancy. Many blessings and virtual hugs.

I'm sorry. You were still right to step out in obedience--you are being answered, just not the way you hoped. The lady that had her tubal reversal the same day as mine was only blessed one more time, but oh, they are grateful for that one. It IS hard!!!

so forgive me if this is sensitive or upsetting to you.
My dh had a vasectomy in 1991. When we married in 1999 he attempted a reversal, but it was not successful as the vas was cut too short during the vasectomy.
We researched our various options and in 2000 he underwent a testicular sperm extraction (TESE) and we were able to conceive twins through IVF. Incidentally, it was during the TESE surgery that it was discovered that he had testicular cancer. He had had a lump "down there" since his vasectomy reversal and everyone (doctors included) assumed it was simply scar tissue from his previous surgeries. Turns out it was advanced testicular cancer - we likely wouldn't have known until the cancer had become much more advanced.
Its been many years since we underwent our procedures, but I could probably dust off the cobwebs if you have any specific questions about TESE, IVF or the other assisted reproductive technologies. You might also search for information on testicular sperm extraction (TESE) and micro-epididimal sperm aspiration (MESA).
I am sorry you're feeling sad. I know and understand the pain of secondary infertility.

Thanks for the hugs and thoughts, everyone.
TwinKick, I am so glad you were able to conceive  and your post is not offensive to me. Dh and I have talked casually about extraction but nothing has come of it. I guess we were so sure that we would have conceived by now. :(

I had a tubal Reversal. I got pregnant 2 months later then lost the baby due to ectopic. This hit us very hard. Now we are on year 4 of reversal failure due to the loss of tube and the other tube being blocked.
As much as we want more kids and jump at the chance to do IVF we are waiting on God. There may be a reason He is saying no or not yet.
It is HARD!! I feel for you.
