Language work for first grade

Hi,
I am looking for resources for spelling work and handwriting. My son gets bored so I need some kind of work as we have for Maths at http://www.cimt.plymouth.ac.uk/projects/mepres/primary/default.htm.

I know I am asking for Language work in Math format but please do share your experiences with such scenarios.

I am new to this forum so please direct me where to look for this info.
