Would he do French? Texas Tech has a great online program that's free (not online with a live person, and not a "class," per se--just a free course that 's pretty good).

Both my kids are taking foreign language online through The Potter's School. My 10th grader is finishing up Latin 2 and my 7th grader is finishing Jr. High French 1.
It's been a very positive experience for us.

You might consider SpanishLuna. The student meets with a live tutor in real time via Skype, using an Elluminate room and chalkboard software. It's pretty nifty.

Not wanting to hijack the thread, but how do I find out about the Texas Tech French course? I poked around their website, but can't find info on it. It sounds like something that would work for us.
TIA!!
