How easy is it to use the IEW? Can you use in in correlation with Shurley Grammar or instead of?

We use IEW. I think it is easy to use, especially with either the theme-based books or the DVD courses (SWI or SICC). It does not include any grammar, so using Shurley along with it is a good idea. We are not Shurley users, but I know some families just skip the writing portion of Shurley and only do the grammar.

It is very easy to use. I love it. We did try SWI-A, but my kids didn't care for it, so I returned it. We are going to use their Ancient History theme-based lessons next year and I'm really looking forward to it.

We use R&S English for grammar and skip the writing lessons.

I use Shurley and IEW. I skip the Shurley writing and do our IEW.
