I really love the bare minerals eyeshadows I have but after about an hour all the powder is in one shiny line in the middle of my eyelid
Is there anyway to fix this? I don't put moisturizer on beforehand.

This is a problem with bare minerals. I do apply moisturizer first and that does help some. Have you thought about mixing the shadow with a dollop of moisturizer? I havent tried that one yet.

I'm not using any of the Bare Mineral products anymore, even though I paid plenty of money for them. They all made my face tremendously shiny and oily, and the eye makeup creased and faded very quickly.
Maybelline has a new line of mineral makeup, and they have a mineral liquid foundation. I've been using that, and I like it much better than Bare Minerals. I haven't tried their eye shadow though.

I use their eyeshadow every day without this problem. After I've washed my face, I put my regular moisturizer on (in my case it's Oil of Olay 15 spf.), then go make my bed to let the moisturizer sink in and dry on my face. Then I apply my makeup. I do wear Bare Minerals foundation powder, which I apply everywhere including my eye lids. Perhaps that is what helps it stay?? Do you use their foundation?
Anyway, that's what I do, and the makeup stays and looks great all day.

I don't know. I've worn Bare Minerals for many years and have had a friend buy it just because between the two of us, my make-up lasted all day and hers was gone. I love the stuff. But like the previous poster, I too wear the Bare Minerals foundation (with and without moisturizer) so maybe it does have to do with that. I'm not sure. Maybe you can ask a consultant. Oh, one thing I have always done is to put on a layer of a light, almost neutral eye shadow on first, and then add my colored shadows or shimmers. I even use the shadow with a little water to make my eyeliner and it lasts all day. Good luck!

I do use the foundation, even on my eyelids.
I thought the moisturizer would make it worse but I will try that.
Do you have oily eyelids after a couple of hours which kills eye makeup or is your problem more specific to mineral makeup? Mine is the former and I have found Urban Decay eyelid primer to be a miracle solution.

It is somewhat of a problem with regular eyeshadows but much worse with the Bare minerals. Thanks for the recommendation, I will check it out.

Another thing they told me when I bought my Bare Minerals was to be very sure to wait a while after putting on moisturizer before putting on the foundation. She said if the moisturizer isn't completely absorbed into your skin, the foundation or eye shadow would be splotchy and caked. Could that be the case for you? The issue of having oily eyelids is another highly likely possibility. I'd definitely powder your lids or even find an oil absorbing concealer to put on before your shadow.
