DS is turning 16 in April and I'd like us to go to NYC for his 16th birthday. A family trip but to the city he really would like to visit.
Last year in the fall, or maybe even the previous spring he asked that we go to NYC. We travel to DC, Baltimore and Philly all the time. But things happened and we put off the NYC trip. Last year I could barely walk winter/spring of '07 so a field trip to anyplace was out of the question. The day trip to NYC has been postponed and postponed and ..... well, now it has been about 18m of postponing. DS has been understanding but this is a kid who rarely asks for anything and he still wants so much to go.
I want to turn the day-trip to a longer trip, several days, say 4 days. I have not been to NYC since I was 13yo, for a short day trip, so the city will be all new to me too.
What would you see and do? Where would you stay? Restaurants to visit? (DS loves hot spicy food, the hotter the better.) He's into science so he would enjoy a trip to a museum or two at least. But which ones?
