What can you tell me about Holt's Elements of Literature?

I am looking for a literature textbook series for high school. I would prefer using whole books exclusively but my son has dyslexia and does better with the anthology approach. Anyway, has anyone used the Holt text? What do you think of it? Also, are there other literature texts out there that have worked well?

My ds uses PH Elements of Literature (1992) at his school for 9th grade. They use it sparingly. They read Romeo & Juliet and Great Expectations; and are now using it for poetry. The teacher assigns some of the questions at the back of each work.
