View Full Version : My embarassing moment of the day

It's only 9:00 and I am done for the day.

At 8:30 the moving company came over to look at the house to give us an estimate for our move. Well, the man was ~65? Anyway, I have an almost 3 year old who had just woken up, and was hungry. The man was trying to go over his list of do's and don'ts. While trying to go over his list my little one is screamimg, starts smacking my 6 yr old, and my 10 yr old was doing his best to keep the peace.

The man puts his pen down, says that he is just too distracted and leaves. I have never been so humiliated in my life!

I'd think of it as the man's problem. That's life with kids. He could have sat down for a few minutes while you got the kids squared away, instead of leaving, and gotten his job done.

He should have sat his butt down and waited for you to calm the kids. How rude of him, I would so call his manager and make him come back. Have a nice cup of hot coco and try and forget about him.;)

Some people are "stupid-heads"?

That man was there to do a job, and he should've gotten it done, regardless of what your kids were doing. If he can't go into a house with people and keep his focus when kids act up, then he's in the wrong line of work.

Yep, his problem, not yours.

ITA with all the previous posts. In fact, you should call the company back, report his behavior, and let them know you will be finding another mover.

I would have felt horrible too. But I absolutely agree that he didn't do the job he was hired to do. I would call the company and ask for a different estimator if possible.

If our estimator had been distracted by children's behavior we would have never moved! ;)

I feel sorry for his wife! She must have had to raise their kids on her own.

And the lady on the phone was very apologetic. She had said the man obviously had no patience or children. Oh well, it's not costing us anything, as long as I don't have to see that man again.

to have been debilitated so much by that little amount of distraction that he couldn't do his job.

There are meds for that.

It would be hard not to feel bad about that but really, you should be laughing at him and not getting down about it. It is a v. funny story and allow yourself to chuckle about it now and then.

Please write this story down in your 3 yo's baby book!! This will be something you can joke about with him later!

FWIW - I agree - you have nothing to be embarassed about! That's what 3 yos are like in the morning!!

Yep, what everyone else said. How rude of him! We have workers in and out for different things here and they are most polite in dealing with all my goings on which includes 2 very noisy, barking dogs.
