Can anyone give me their top curriculum choices for teaching Art and Music--K-3 grade level? I need something planned out for me because I am very weak in this area and need to learn myself. What I'm looking for is something that will teach about artists and composers and recognizing their works. I wouldn't mind something that also teaches them art concepts, as well. We did go partly through Artistic Pursuits book 1 in a coop setting, but it wasn't exactly what we were looking for and my kids lost interest. The 2nd book looks like it might be more of what we want, but not sure. Thanks!

For music appreciation -- take a look at Themes to Remember and Classical Kids. Both are really wonderful resources! I believe the author of Themes to Remember has a list on her website which details the timing of introducing each piece for each grade level, too.
Good luck!

Definitely check out Harmony Fine Arts:

We've used and truly enjoyed for three years now. Sounds like what you're describing!
We use the Artist/Composer Studies from AO and then we use Art Adventures @ Home for actual art instruction. That said, Harmony Fine Arts is a really neat program and I agree with the pp that it will probably fit the bill better for you.
