Children that are emotionally disturbed

Hello,

I am new to this forum and are looking for opinions in regard to emotionally disturbed children in school. As a parent I would like to know what types of problems you have encountered and how were they resolved?

I look forward to learning from everyone here and hopefully establishing great relationships.

My, admittedly quite limited, experience with an emotional disturbance label was that it accorded fewer rights to a child than other diagnoses. I was warned by an autism advocate that one school district would try to label autistic kids as ED so that they would have fewer obligations under special ed law. Sorry, that's as much as I know, I hope it helps.

Thanks for the information. I've heard similiar stories in my area. Will keep a lookout. .It surprises me that people are not more responsible!!
