Hi! I've been lurking here for a short time, but I've found so much interesting information here on the Accelerated Learner Board that I decide to join. I am currently homeschooling two children. Dd is 11 and Ds is 10.

I've been reading the jr. high/high school thread about science for those who are advanced in math. I'm curious about those who are NOT advanced in math. Dd (5th grade) just started doing a biology book that we have on hand (Glencoe). She will need most if not all of next year to do it, but what about after that? Usually chemistry comes after biology, but she wouldn't be ready for the math that would be involved. One friend recommended looking at Paradigm's Integrated Chemistry and Physics. Are there any other chemistry programs (preferably Christian) that are not heavy on the math?

Thanks!:)

My son (12yo) is enjoying Thinkwell's Chemistry program. It does have a bit of math involved but not as much as one would think. Also the Real Science 4 Kids Chemistry 2nd level really has a lot of information if you are using it for a jr high level course.

I second the RS4K Chem II if she's accelerated in Science. Paul Hewitt has a high school level Conceptual Physics book (he also as a college level one and another book) you may wish to try as you don't need much math. There's also a Conceptual Chemistry book out there that we're going to do right after RS4K Chem II, but my dd will be doing it at 14. She'll have had Algebra 1, but I don't remember if she actually will need that or not.
