I like the rock kits and some of the suggested activities, but the books are poorly written. What ages are you looking for? You might have more responses if you start a new thread asking about "Ring of Fire" science. I think many people know it by that name.

Prentice-Hall Science Explorer books are better written, IMO.

Thanks. I just stumbled upon them looking for the couple of missing rocks I don't have that REAL 's kit does, and I thought the rock collections looked really handsome. I've not heard of Ring of Fire, either, and since we are secular, I think they may not be for us, but I was mildly curious, and thought I'd share the kits, anyway.

I see they come to my local conference. Perhaps I'll try to see them and report on who close the kits are to those lovely pictures.
