Have any of you combined SL Core 1 and SOTW 1? Is it difficult to do, anyone have a schedule they will share?
I found some old threads, but they talk about correlating SOTW with CHOW. I don't see that CHOW is used in Core 1. Am I missing something?

If you have a current Core 1, you'll use CHOW. It's listed in Necessary Resources instead of History. If you have a really old Core 1 (when it was Four Civilizations) its spine is Usborne Time Traveller. I'm using that old Core 1 but combining it with the old Core 2 that's based on the Usborne Book of World History as the spine.

Thanks, that has been driving me crazy! I missed the required resources on the website and didn't realize they were separate from the Core!

I plan on combining the two. I have the SL 1 books from 8 yrs ago (when oldest dd was in 1st grade). I don't have the IG any more. I plan on using the books when the SOTW 1 AG calls for them (most are listed as recommended books to read). I also have printed the chart (http://www.redshift.com/~bonajo/chowsotw.htm) that shows how to line up SOTW and CHOW.
I will probably take the regular read alouds and divide up the chapters evenly over the year to make my own schedule.
It's what we are doing this year. I basically butchered the Sonlight History schedule and the order of SOTW to make it work, but I have put my schedule up at my yahoo group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/elemental_science/). You have to join to see it, but membership is immediate:). I also put up templates for my notebooking pages. I recently posted about my thoughts on the combo here (http://elementalscience.blogspot.com/2009/03/thoughts-on-next-year-revisiting-sotw.html) on my blog. It's been a great year for us, but we are going all Sonlight next year. Hope that helps you.
