Has anyone's dc ever raised meat goats for money?

Ds needs to replenish depleted funds and is interested in meat goats.
We have the room for it but I don't know what the market is for these animals and how it all works.
We googled and - of course - came up with quite conflicting info.

If anyone has any input on this, we appreciate it!

There is a big market for them from dog food raw feeders.
If you care to google search to see if there is a co-op near you that offers meat for dog owners, you would have a great demand.
Also, you can advertise on Craigslist, offering goat meat for raw dog food, or as animal for butcher.

Here in central NC, meat goats go for about $1 a pound on the hoof (live weight.) That's pretty decent. You need to find a processor and figure out what they are paying.
