View Full Version : Anyone have experience with a neurodevelopmentalist?

We had decided to put our ds7 (Asperger's, ADHD, SPD) back on medication. The chaos in our home is just too much. It's not fair to ds or to his younger brothers who idolize him. We are seeing soooo much "copycatting"; they are too young to understand that ds8 is not the best role model most of the time.

Back to neurodevopmental therapy...I have heard a neurodevelopmentalist speak out our hs conference for the past few years and been very interested. At the same time I was not willing to spend the money (not cheap at all) and the huge amount of time required to put the program in place until I knew of an IRL person who used them with success. Well it happened. A friend took her dd6 who has similar issues to my ds8, although not nearly to the severity, and they went through the program with great success.

For the first time in quite a while I have a new hope. I forgot how refreshing hope can be. ;) I have no illusions that this therapy will "fix" my little guy but if we are able to make some forward progress then that will be a great thing. We have been stuck in the same spot (with emotional and social development) for quite a while and even done some backtracking. Maybe we'll still even need to medicate but hopefully not the same extent.

I was just wondering if anyone else has used this type of therapy. Does anyone have any advice/ideas/suggestions/comments?
