Has any of our Thinkwell users have used "only" the CD lectures?

How effective are they?

I cannot engage in an online class, does this means we cannot use Thinkwell?

I am all:bigear:. Thanks in advance for your time in replying.

I have used it both ways, as a full math course and as a supplement. I bought mine before they started doing the web subscription stuff. If you are using it to support another text, like provide lectures, then I'd say no, you don't need any other material from them. But if you are using it [B]as[B] your math course then you'd need the on-line subscription to do the problems and tests. Does that help at all?

Thanks for your reply Sharon.

I was thinking on their Sciences, is it the same?

No quizzes, test or practice exercise on the CD?

I don't think there are many problems on the cd's. There were a few exercises built into the program for math, but most of the exercises were done on line and were multiple choice by the way. And the on-line testing had some drawbacks when we were using it.

That was a couple years ago, so they may have worked out some of the bugs that we were frustrated with back then.

I know this isn't much help, hopefully someone else will come along soon. There were several people on the boards before who had used other courses from them. If you don't get any good info soon, I'd wait a week and post again with Thinkwell Sciences in the title. Some folks might be on spring break now.

Hello Sharon and all Thinkwell users, it's me again.

I just got a reply from the company stating that the CD is not a stand alone product and "only" the ones that buy/use the online class are allowed to buy the CD.

Has anyone NOT taking the online class successfully been able to buy the CD?

Any input, comment and advice will be gladly received.

Thanks in advance, again.:001_smile:

You can buy the lectures used and just watch them without the subscription. I've seen them on ebay and on several used book sites. Thinkwell can't really do anything about people reselling their lectures. But, I don't know if you can purchase a subscription code after buying used anymore. They used to have a mechanism for that, but I don't know if they still do or not.

....used. My son only viewed a few CDs. I thought they were great! And he did too....but he didn't get through but 1/8 of the program. We are just a book-loving people.
