I have seen various posts about which online classes are worth the investment of time and money. We have had a great experience over the last two years with Scholarsonline.org.
My son has taken two years of science courses. He started with Natural Science I as a 7th grader and followed up with and Natural Science II this year.
It is listed as a high school course, and has been a lot of work for him. The work included writing weekly essays and reading essays written by other students, reading two lectures each week with one on science and the other on the history of science, and preparing preparing homework questions. I particularly like how the teacher encourages the use of online resources which has developed skills in sorting out what is important and how it can be used to answer the questions the student has about the particular aspect of science they are studying that week.
Hope this helps someone.
