I haven't been successful in finding these yet. I need the 7th edition. Where can buy them? I just ordered the textbook and solutions manual from Half.com for really cheap.
All this talk about TT has me mostly convinced that we should switch to something else...I think it will be Lials...that's why I ordered one to look over.
Okay, this is my plan (actually, I think Jann of TX suggested this a while ago...I can't remember, that's why I'm posting): I also own Lials Introductory Algebra, so I'll have my dd take the Chapter tests until she feels like she doesn't know it very well, and then start doing the lessons from there. And then she would start in Intermediate Algebra. Do you think that is a good plan?
Also, how long should it take to get through a chapter? Is each section (ie 1.1, 1.2, etc.) a day's lesson? I'm trying to wrap my mind around how to schedule it, since it's different than what we're use to.
Thanks for responding. I learn a lot from this forum!

I really feel like I will need to get the DVTs, so I hope I can find them.

find the ISBN's for the other materials, including the DVT's. There are other websites where you could plug in those ISBN's and find the DVT's---addall.com, or e-campus.com, and there are probably others. I would think you'd be able to find the DVT's for that edition.
I'm not Jann, so I'm not a math-savvy mom like she is, but I think your plan of having your dd test out of the earlier chapters sounds reasonable. I think you'll be able to tell when she's getting in "over her head" and then you'll have to start there. (I think!)
As far as scheduling, it generally took us about one month to get through each chapter. I would have them read the lesson, or better yet, just a portion of the lesson one day (the lessons can get pretty long) and watch the DVT for that section only. Then I would give them approximately half of the problems to work on. If there is a particularly long section of problems, then sometimes I divided that up over three days. Doing just the odd problems only helped quite a bit----those are the ones that the student solutions manual covers. Also, I think it was Jann, or perhaps LoriM or Jane in NC, that recommended doing all the chapter review problems at the end of each chapter. That might take several days, but it should help to solidfy the concepts before taking the tests.
At the rate of about one month per chapter (for our family), for the Introductory Algebra, it took about 9 months, because there are 9 chapters; there are 10 chapters, I believe, in Intermediate Algebra, so perhaps allow for 10 months. Of course, the length of time depends on your dd's aptitude for math and her comprehension of the topics.
HTH!

I usually plan on each section taking 2 days--occasionally 3 if the student is having difficulty. Chapter reviews are usually 3 days. Tests one day.
I often break the lessons down like Michelle sugested too. My dd does not use the DVTs--she finds the books have enough instruction for her--and then of course she OCCASIONALLY lets me teach her (this happends VERY rarely).
E-mail me if you still have difficulty finding the DVTs--after you try the sites Michelle listed.
As you review Introductory Algebra you may want to look back at some of the CHAPTER REVIEWS to help isolate concepts that may need more time--or that were not in TT.
Feel free to e-mail me if you ever get stuck!

I own the DVT's for Introductory Algebra, the 7th edition. I have the DVT's for the Intermediate Algebra, the 8th edition, but I may still need them in the future. Our middle daughter is doing Introductory Algebra now, and I purchased the new (8th) edition and the DVT's, so she's working out of those. But, I'm finished with the 7th edition DVT's. It's uncertain whether or not we'll continue to homeschool our middle daughter; if we don't, I'll eventually be selling off much of our accumulated curricula.
I think I bought them from e-campus.com for around $35.00; I could sell them to you for $25.00, including shipping. If you're interested, send me a private message. If you're not interested, it's no big deal; I just happened to be looking and realized I had them! I hope you find the DVT's for the 7th edition of the Intermediate Algebra!

Thanks Michelle in MO & Jann in TX! I haven't received the Intermediate Algebra that I bought yet...so I don't have the ISBN #. That should be on the back of the book. I will check when I have that #.
So far I've looked (without the ISBN) at Half.com, Addall, Alibris, Amazon, ecampus...and haven't been able to find them yet. So, Jann of TX, I might be e-mailling you if I can't find them after I get that #.
Michelle in MO: I don't think I will need to buy the Introductory DVT's, but thanks for the offer. That's a good price!
Thanks again!

Can you use newer edition DVTs with older edition books and vice versa?

the sequence of the topics are almost the same. , so they can be used. I have the 7th edition book but my dvts are 8th edition. There are many sellers of dvts in half.com , just checked,, for as low as 5.00 plus ship

I put the ISBN #, searched for "digital video tutor", and couple other things and still I can't find dvts for Intermediate Algebra, 7th or 8th edition.
Can you help me? I must not be searching the right way.
Thanks!

I just put in the ISBN for the 8th edition of Intermediate Algebra and it had the DVTs.
This site is a bit tricky to search but I'm pretty sure they have them.

I just went ahead and bought the DVT's from the link that KatKat posted. They are 8th edition (my book is 7th edition). I hope that they work okay together. If they don't, I'll just buy an 8th edition book! The 7th edition one I bought was under $5.00!
Thank you to everyone who responded. You have been most helpful to me.
I started having my dd do the tests from Introductory Algebra...she's finished three so far. What she did on those is if there was a problem that she didn't know or remember, she went back and read the lesson and then worked the problems (without looking at the answers). I'm sure further on she'll need to do the chapter reviews, but so far she hasn't. Thanks, Jann of TX, for giving me that suggestion.
