I liked the way we used to be able to scan down and view everything quickly, so I've been using the hybrid format to scan through many of the responses in threads-makes me feel a little more "at home" like the old boards, and I've heard others say this as well. Also trying to find a way to make the "new posts" feature work better so it only brings up the brand new stuff from the couple boards I frequent (see my previous thread on this)-kind of tweak it to perform a similar function to the color changes you would see on what you had previously viewed on the old board. What are you doing?

Subscribe to topics that interest you. That's a great feature -- much preferable to having to scrooooooooolll past all those threads that bore you. :D

Clicking on "New Posts" is helpful.

I really haven't felt the vibes of the "New Posts" option because I like to have the posts lined up with their thread.

What I am finding works well for me with the general board (since it moves SO fast) is that when I enter the forum, I scan the list of threads. The ones that are of interest to me, I right-click the arrow (that takes you to the first new post) and click Open in New Tab. I do that for all the threads with new posts before I read anything. Once I have clicked all the threads I am interested in, I close out the main forum page and read the individual threads in their individual tabs. Keeps everything nice and tidy for me and there isn't all that going back and forth. When I finish reading the thread, I just close that tab and move on to the next one.

Before I started doing this, I was getting irritated that when I would return from reading a thread, the one that had been next in line was no longer next in line. It was hard to keep up with. I find this much better.

I'm still figuring this all out. I feel more confident than I did earlier thanks to those who answered some questions to me! I'm determined to make this work! I can see benefits to it and I love seeing the pictures from everyone!

For some reason my post ended up in the wrong thread. That is the second time today that I answered a poll and then my post itself ended up in another post. I answered the circus one and my post ended up in a birthday calendar discussion I can't even find.
