Did Apologia work for your Middle grade student for physical science? Thanks, Angela

This is the first textbook I use for science, and it has worked very well for both my students (although I did have to do a little hand-holding with my middle ds).

I liked it better than the General Science book. My 3rd child will use it next year, as did his bro and sis. I like my dc to have a "short course" in chemistry and physics before high school chem and physics classes, which is what physical science does. It also includes earth science. I thought it interesting. LOL! But I'm not a science person.

I'm using it this year for two of my dc. I really like Apologia. I think it's a great transition to text-learning for those kids who have been used to living book, discussion-laden learning. I use General and Physicl Science to teach outlining and notetaking from a text and how to study for tests.

We love the highschool things. We are up to the Physics course and next year we will either do and advanced course or opt for the CC if DS places highly enough for a real science class over there.

I'll mega ditto that, lol :-)
We're using it this year for 8th in a co-op setting for labs.
So far so good.
Dr. Wile is great about responding to emails, and his website offers science challenges for kids too.

My oldest (7th grade) has a few modules left in General Science, after which I imagine I'll have him move on to Physical Science. We've been pleased overall with GS. Granted, there's a lot of hand-holding what with the study guide questions. That's why it's been a good segue as he develops more independent study skills. I expect Physical Science will go over well with him, too, but I would really like to see him link up with others for science labs. I worry about having him go it alone...

We like it here. It seemed to flow better for us than General Science (which we also like).

We too are enjoying the Physical Science text. It's much easier to use the 2nd edition than the 1st. We used General Science last year. I use both texts as a chance to learn how to take notes, study, complete lab reports, and take tests. This year we also have quarterly test which as added to the challenge a little more.

We've done Gen, phys, biology and now chemistry - I think Physical science is one of the stronger books we've done so far (I would put Chem up there as well).
