What has worked best for your middle school/ high school student? Thanks, Angela

We wait until the children are in 9th grade and then do Traditional Logic. I never did like Intro Logic--I tried reading it and listening to the tapes, but chose to move into TL instead.
We've not been able to get both books done in 1 year, so we finish it their sophomore year.

We also tried Introductory Logic, but it really was not what we were looking for on a number of levels. We have just started Traditional Logic (on Chapter 4), and like it very much.

I can't say that I really liked Traditional that much, but my son didn't mind it and finished it without difficulty in middle school. I do think that it wouldn't hurt a bit to wait until high school to do it, however, and will be waiting and doing informal logic, first, with my younger son.
My older son also did do Intro Logic I and II, but it became so convoluted that I just couldn't make heads nor tails of it, myself, LOL..... I may revisit it at some point with my younger son, but unless something better comes out, I think he'll probably definitely be doing Trad Logic over Intro.....

Another vote for Traditional Logic. It has nice bite sizes pieces to learn.

I've asked this a couple of times in the past and time again, Traditional Logic gets more nods. Most people (not all, of course) seem to find it more user-friendly. As well, Tina in Ouray, the resident logic guru, prefers TL. At this point, I honestly don't know whether I'll even cover logic (beyond Mindbenders, Fallacy Detective & Thinking Toolbox, that is) with my guys. I had high hopes, but now that I'm teaching four with another up-and-coming, I feel so squeezed. I would like to bring TL in during 9th grade, though.

Could you post links to the Traditional Logic?
I only have this link (http://www.welltrainedmind.com/99logic.html) from Susan W Bauer page.
Thanks!!
