Logic?

Someone is welcome to point me to a thread that has covered this subject...

I was wondering what you all are doing for Logic? My dd will be ready to begin Logic next year. (Roughly 4th "grade") Are you all following the WTM suggestions or doing something different? Scope & sequence for the the logic?

I couldn't easily find a logic thread, but our scope and sequence is: (most of this is still a plan)
Mind Benders (A3-A4) from Critical Thinking Press - 4th and 5th grade
Fallacy Detective (6th grade)
Traditional Logic I (7th grade)
Traditional Logic II (8th grade)
Material Logic (9th grade)

Some of this will depend on how hard it is for each of my children. We may spread these out or delay a year.

I was at a HS conference last year and listened to Dr. Christopher Perrin (the Classical Academic Press/ Latin for CHildren guy) say that it was ok to wait on logic til sixth or seventh grade and they would still do fine. So that is our plan here. I plan to do CAP Logic next year (or maybe the year after) -- I can't remember what they call it.

I'm following the WTM suggestions, because logic is new for me. I've done some reading on the boards about logic, but decided I'm mostly comfortable just following this course (subject to change as we go along, if I get convinced by a particular argument:D) for now. So this year, ds in 5th grade is going through the MindBenders books in level A. We do a couple of puzzles a week together. Next year I'm going to go through the Critical Thinking books with him.

For grades 3-6, we use Building Thinking Skills and Mind Benders (both by Critical Thinking Press)
7th grade: Fallacy Detective and Art of Argument
8th grade: Logic I: Tools for Thinking by Norman Birkett (ClassicalLegacyPress.com)
9th grade: Introductory and Intermediate Logic by Nancy/Wilson
