What are your academic priorities and why?

Academically, some will place high SAT/ACT/PSAT scores higher in order to get scholarship money. Some will place those same scores higher to get into a "prestigous" college. Some will place the priority on a particular subject that could be different for each child in the same family. For some, it is to graduate early and get as much in as possible. Some might have outside interests where they do not stress as much about the academics.

The focus should be what you want for your child(ren) and what they want also. Is there a specific goal you have in mind?
