Nature Study Supplies

What will I need for ages 4-11?

It was a "game" I started to find out what to take on a nature study walk. Not sure there are brand names listed. Some basic supplies I would recommend (including books) are:

Sketchbook to use for a nature journal (if you're doing that)
colored pencils/drawing pencils (or regular pencils)
a good Field Guide (I've heard Peterson's mentioned here)
Perhaps a book like [U]Starting a Nature Journal[U] by Clare Walker
camera if you are taking pictures

Honestly, I'm so new at this. The thread I linked you to had a bunch of good ideas for what to take on a nature walk. There was another thread about Nature Study references/books (just search for Nature Study). HTH
