are these the same books just printed by different companies?

I can't find an inside preview for the first book to try and make a comparison for myself. But it makes good purchasing sense for me being in Australia to buy the first one if they are one in the same. Can anyone help?

Thanks

looks to me that the first is a compilation of 4 books in the same series. HTH!

The first book looks like it is a compilation--but of the books put out by Elson and Christine M. Keck. These are on Google Books as separate volumes. You can check them there.

I have a dickens of a time with Google Books--and it seems to me I can' t look inside them, but you may know better what to do--and you may have access from Australia. Honestly, I have no clue.

It does seem as if you can look inside the table of contents ( and I have done so--I coordinated a bunch of stuff from Lit2Go to put on discs based on them last year.) That's not really going to help you decide between them, though, is it?

The Readers were published over a series of years, of course, just like the McGuffey's. Some years are better than others, of course. As long as they pre-date "Dick and Jane" though, you should be getting something decent to read, based on phonics and not "sight" words.

The second link--to the individual readers are published by lost book classcs. It looks like they have wonderful support.

Rainbow Resource sells the ones listed in your second link. There are TM's that go with those.

Hmm, OK. I was thinking that the first one might have been the set of 4 readers in 1 book not a compilation so making it a really good buy, but by the sounds of it, that isn't the case.

Not to worry I was going to go with the Lost Classics ones anyway but when I saw these others I thought I should check. Thanks.
