Kids who did something like robotics

How did you end up putting it on their transcripts? As part of a course (or a course in itself) or purely as extracurricular?

Purely extracurricular for us. My son participated in First Lego League robotics in 8th and 9th grade. (Great experience, by the way. His team won a trophy at the state level.)

We tried to get a First Tech high school team going, but it never got off the ground. These teams are time consuming so consideration of partial credit may be the way to go if one needs to encourage participation. We just found with sports, church commitments, jobs, etc., we could not find a dedicated group of high school students. Sigh...
