View Full Version : Can you recommend a free online food journal or calorie counter?
I don't want something that will share my information, or send me spam. I found some free ones when I googled, but they all require you to login. I would prefer to have a recommendation before I login to that kind of thing. Anybody using one they like, and that is easy to use? I want to track calories, fat and fiber, at a minimum.

http://www.sparkpeople.com/ is great. It has all the tools you need and more. You will have to log in, but it's not a spam-heavy site at all. They won't share your information.
There's also a WTM group over there *if* you want to post on that message board. But if all you want is to track your nutrition (it tracks a number of nutrients for you), you can do just that. :)
Fitday.com -- requires registration but no spam, etc. and you can choose to make your journal public or not (private is the default).

I started yesterday and can't believe how easy it is and how well it works! There is online motivation, support, and tracking all for free. Sparks will also give you a free daily diet menu and exercise routine based on your goals.
Spark is where it's at, babe!

I like Fitday. It's easy to set up. Easy to use. I found Sparkpeople a bit overwhelming.

Hi, Crissy --
I also like it because it's faster. I've tried all the others mentioned -- and many more -- and they seem to assume everyone has broadband access. Fitday takes into account the lowly, forgotten dial-uppers. :D
