The 2nd ed. of Jacob's Geometry and not the third? I was OK in Geometry, but not an ace. Money is beyond bad, and I'm just sick to think the text & teacher's manual I have are no good. I was hoping to use either the Teaching Co. or Dr C's dvds as back-ups, but it looks like they won't work with the 2nd ed.
Help, what should I do! :crying:

I haven't used Jacob's myself but I have heard that some prefer the 2nd edition because there are more proofs.

Middle ds and I are just finishing up the second edition. I wasn't about to spring for the newer, more expensive version when I already owned this one. We've been able to muddle through with just the text and teacher's edition...and I much prefer algebra to geometry!

My teen started an out of the home Geometry class that used Jacobs' 3rd edition. When she came home mid-year to finish the course, she elected to use the 2nd edition which we had on hand. She found the color scheme of the 2nd edition to be less visually distracting than the 3rd edition. The second edition is also more proof intensive than the third.

I specifically searched for a second edition for my dd this year because I wanted her working through more proofs. She used the Teaching Company dvds alongside this text. If you want me to send you the way we matched the dvds to the text, just let me know.
DD would watch all the TC lectures that had the same topics as a particular Jacob's chapter, then work through the chapter. Only once has she been stumped by the text, saying the TC lectures didn't cover that topic.

Yes!!! That would be wonderful. I really don't want to have to invest in a whole other set.

You know, for some reason, I believe that TCC Geometry DVD's correlate with the second edition. I thought I saw that on their website (TCC's). So, you are probably good to go!
