I was looking at Classical Writing's beginning poetry, but, MAN!! it's so expensive. There are some less expensive ones in Rainbow catalog, but I can't tell from the write-up what's good and what's not. Any of you ladies have good experiences with any particular course?? I'd like to hear about them.

We do one lesson/week. Get the SM & TM - $30. You can buy it from CBD or Rainbow.

CW's Poetry is pricey, but MAN, it's good! My dd loves it and it's been a lot of fun to study.

I have a friend who used the Grammar of Poetry and liked it a lot, too.

Michael Clay Thompson's LA curriculum has poetry books for each level. They look very meaty. I'm going to give them a go, but haven't actually tried them yet, so can't report on actual use yet.

For younger kids (under 6th) we use Evan-Moor's Read and Understand Poetry and the Logo's School books mentioned earlier - Poetry Primer and The Grammar of Poetry - for older kids (6th and up).

We've been using EIW's poetry curriculum for the last year and we LOVE it! It is pricey, but it's probably an easy 3 years worth of curriculum, so when I took that into consideration, it's only a little over $20 a year. Not bad. hth!
