We just transitioned from MUS primer to BJU Math 1. We really like BJU, and plan to stick with it, at least through the next few levels. I'm thinking about selling our MUS blocks and getting some Unifix cubes, just to keep everything consistent. But before I do that, I was hoping that someone more experienced might give some input. Are the Unifix cubes enough? I don't see how to easily help a child conceptualize 100s, for example, using Unifix cubes. On the other hand, I can't fathom using all the little MUS bars while using the BJU curriculum.

Opinions or suggestions??

I actually bought a base 10 kit to use with BJU and it worked out really well. So I would think the MUS manipulatives would help too.

We have the unifix cubes too, but I find that I am not really using them past the 2nd grade level. By then, we are using the 10's kit instead.

If you buy the BJU math kit, they will have a punch out place value kit to use. One thing that I am getting next year to add to our BJU manipulatives is the GeoBoard.
