My dd(5.5) just finished A Reason for Handwriting K and is also almost done with Explode the Code 1. I am trying to decide what to order next since she is done with A Reason for Handwriting K. Her handwriting is very good; but I do not want to officially start Writing With Ease with her yet since she is only 5.5.

Should I order A Reason for Handwriting A? Or should I use Memoria Press Copybooks or Queens Language Lessons? I am considering the Memoria Press Copybooks because that is what the Latin Centered Curriculum recommends...although I have not heard of a lot of people using these. Is there another option I have not yet considered?

She really does not need anymore instruction how to form letters. What would you do?

Thanks!

I used all the MP Copywork books with my oldest and while I can't say she enjoyed them, they did what I needed them to do. :)

Now that we are done those books and for my subsequent kids, instead of using those copywork books, I purchased StartWrite and am making up my own copywork sheets that revolve around whatever topic we are studying. Sometimes it's the poem that we are memorizing, or the list of planets, or a quote from Julius Caesar (this is in gr.2, not for your son's age :)). I even make up copywork to reinforce trouble spelling words. It's a bit more expensive to begin with but I like that the possibilities of use are limitless.

You can choose the size of the lines, which font, which lines to include, if you need dotted letters for the child to write over or no letters at all. It's a wonderful, versatile program that I have thoroughly enjoyed having.

If you haven't seen this before, here's the link (http://www.startwrite.com/).

My son's practice at that age was copying the words for his favourite things: names of friends, animals, foods, places. It kept him interested.

:iagree: I make handwriting pages using zaner-bloser online (http://www.zaner-bloser.com/educator/products/handwriting/index.aspx?id=4296). Works for us (and it's cheap! :D )

I got a copywork book for Ariel after she finished HWT. It's worked well and she doesn't complain. I don't plan to start her on WWE untl July or August, so this keeps her in practice.
