As I was thinking about ideas for the other thread about saving money, I started to get a little sidetracked. And a little crazy, as you'll see.

I'm all for saving money, and didn't want to miss out on any new tips that might be added to the list. So... I thought these deserved a different thread, all of their own. ;)

1. Do your housekeeping only once per month, or if you're thrifty every few months. It'll save electricity by not using your vacuuming, washing machine, etc. And the extra clutter, lint, dirt, etc. will act as insulation, keeping your house warmer in the winter and keeping the heat out in the summer.

2. Save gasoline by only mowing your grass after it goes to seed. The seeds will help fill in any bare spots in your lawn.

3. Paint your rooms with glow in the dark paint. Turn on the lights only as needed to "recharge" the walls.

Got any others? :D

If you don't wash your windows ever, that adds a layer of SPF, LOL. ;)

It saves money on both haircuts and chocolate. The teenage rolling of the eyes can't be seen so I don't get frustrated and turn to chocolate.

Not bathing will add extra layers of protective dirt so you will use less sun screen. Not to mention it saves on water and other natural resources.

Don't tell me kids I said this!

And if you do it the Mrs. Pigglewiggle way, you will get fresh produce from the vegetables you plant in the dirt on your body!

Call your neighbors on your tin can phone stretched across the street!

Only feed your dc once a day - saves a ton on groceries :D (okay, don't call DSS...I really do feed them more than once a day!)

Let your toddler scoot around the kitchen/dining room on his/her bottom - no need to mop :D

Reuse the bath water after each child/children bathe (let the cleanest one go first!) - save $ on the water bill

Unplug the TV!

Go colonial and use candles/oil lamps for light!

It also gives you the look of a nice tan. No kidding, we thought my little brother had a great tan and then realized he was just really dirty!

1) Another reason to avoid mowing the grass: once it grows tall enough, even if you're tempted to call for pizza delivery, they won't be able to find your house!

2) If you *must* bathe, do it wearing clothes and socks and be sure to rub your feet & clothing around the tub. You'll clean yourself *and* wash your clothes, thus saving water, soap and time.

1.Built in swimming pool can be used for showers, laundry and dog baths.
2.Get weekly maids so you don't have to buy cleaning supplies and refresh manicures.
3. Swing from ceiling fan. Saves on gym membership while still offering exercise. hmmm...
4. Cut toenails annually. Use clippings for hammer, brick, or any other firm substance.
5. Attract flies. They have to have some protein! mmm good :)
6. Talk to me. Anyone will seem normal and balanced by comparison. It's a whole lot cheaper than a therapist!!
