My son needs to complete World Civ before August. What are you all using? I had hoped I could use Thinkwell but they don't offer it so now I guess I need a good resource for he and I to go through together. Thoughts? Thanks.

How old is your ds? Spielvogel's Human Odyssey is an option for high school.

Here is an online syllabus for it: http://killeenroos.com/wh/syllabus.htm

It seems that site is no longer accessible. Sorry about that.

We have Human Odyssey, too, but DD had used Spielvogel's Western Civilization in high school (grade 11). In her Senior year of high school, she took an honors class at the community college where they used this book (and she liked it better) ...

Thanks, very much. I decided to go ahead and begin SWB's History of the Ancient World with him. I read it last year and I enjoyed it immensely. I went ahead and wrote some study questions for chapter 1, found a link to the story of Inannu and another one which lists the kings and their reigns from the Sumerian Kings List. I added a few questions from those sites for him, as well. I think we will attempt to read a chapter a day, at least. I will ask him to either answer study questions or write about what he has read that day. I am looking at the suggestions from you all now as a follow up or supplement to what we have started. I appreciate your time very much.

Lisa! I tried the link and it doesn't work. Any ideas? I'd really like to see the syllabus.

It may take a little longer to sort through and download to your computer for viewing and adaptation, but here are some, if not most all, of the files that were on that site initially. They are still there just in a different spot and format.

Clicking on the links will get you to the specific pages though I am not sure what order they are in compared to the initial page which no longer works.

Here is another one that is on the same site but a different teacher with lots of powerpoint presentations and other helpful materials.

This second site is called Pre AP World History.
