My ds 8 got annoyed with his little brother 2 and knocked his head into the table leg making the little guy cry but causing no permanent damage. The little guy was climbing onto his chair to sit next to his brother (not the same chair).
For what it is worth, ds is having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. This is the third time this morning he has done something that he knows is either not allowed, mean or rude.
Obviously, he must not have gotten enough sleep since he's so cranky. LOL. Tell him that, and put him in his room for an hour-long nap. That ought to fix him.
Good luck. I can sympathize.

If it's out of sorts, I'd put him back in bed for an hour. When mine get weird like that, it's usually because they are tired and going back to bed is punishment enough (and they usually come back out a bit more rested).
I hope he comes to his senses soon!

I agree, sounds like nap time,

I put her in her room for a L.O.N.G. time-out. Too little sleep. Her writing assignment was frustrating her and she took it out on little bro...simply unacceptable. For you ds, sounds like a nap is in order :) For my dd11 (who should have better self-control), I told her she wouldn't be able to play her final bball game if her behavior didn't improve. I have no doubt her behavior will be stellar throughout today and tomorrow:) I can sympathize...a nap, some time to blow off some steam outside, etc.
Yep, what they said. It's time for big brother to go back to bed. One other thought, does he could be getting a cold or some other virus.

As Lynn suggested below, he could easily be catching a virus. His little brother has been sick.
Naps all around I think!

Yep, all of the above.
Mine would get sent to bed for a nap, assuming they're too tired to function at the moment and an understanding that they are possibly coming down with a cold or something.

He needs practice loving his brother, so he should play whatever the 2 yo wants for an hour, then make him a snack and sing him a song. :D

I'd gather him to me, give him lots of hugs, make sure that he understood that he had a responsibility to control himself when he was in a bad mood, and ask him how I could help him gain that control: some time on his own, a nap, a walk...

TOTALLY OT, but I keep seeing this subject line and hearing a song instead "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" :o

LOL, just for the record, I am NOT condoning that as a punishment fitting this "crime", LOL ;)
