I'm pretty sure I've seen this mentioned here recently, and I was trying to find out more about it. I'd really like to know more about how it is laid out and how to use it.
We tried SWO, but it seemed like too much busywork with little results for my 7yo ds. So I bought Sequential Spelling. While he seems to enjoy it, I'm not sure about it's long term retention and it doesn't teach any spelling rules.
I'd appreciate any help, or even links to where I can read more about this book. Thank you.

Wow, ok, I should have read the threads already on the board because I think I found my answer in another thread...
So I guess my question should now be more like this...if you own this or are using it, what are your thoughts on it? Thanks.

We own it, use it, and LOVE it. Check out the thread regarding spelling programs a few above yours and Jessica from TA gives an excellent summary (as usual).
I highly recommend it!!

Hi Michelle.
If you've searched the boards, you've no doubt already read my opinion of Simply Spelling. But I'll reiterate that I really really like it. It's very effective, simple, and takes very little time. I think that learning words in the context of a sentence is much more effective that memorizing lists of words.

Thank you both... I think I will look further into this for 3rd grade in the fall.
