I'm looking at the science rec's for gr.4. If you've done wtm science for gr. 4 how has it gone? What were your experiences? Did you use Physics Experiments For Young Children?
TIA

(you knew I'd have to respond to you, right? :D)
I DID! I DID!! Yes, we used that book and yes, it went great! We started off trying to do 2 experiments per week, but a lot of times it was 1/week. And I folded dd in who was 6/7 at the time. It was fun to do because the experiments were easy, with easy to find materials. The explanations were good in the book, and what was difficult, I was able to make easy. It's just easy, easy, easy, because I followed the experiment questions in WTM afterwards. It's a great intro. to physics, and fun.

I'm glad it's easy. And yes, I knew you'd respond 'cause I knew you'd done it.;)
My dd is trying to convince me that she should do animal science again. I'm kind of tired of it since we touched on it doing biomes last year, have ended up dropping chemistry and doing birds (although I'm trying to resurrect it), and we did it in gr. 1. I'm compromising and what she wants to do is to write reports on the animals. So, somehow I'm going to tailor our writing to do that and try and do physics as well.
I'm unsure of whether to keep dd2 separate and do earth science or keep them together. I might have her do her own science when dd1 is doing science reports.
The thing I love about wtm science is that the books are cheap at this stage and if I don't use all of it I only spent a few dollars.
Thanks for the input.
BTW has anyone else used it and found it easy?

And you get reimbursed, lucky girl! ;)
bump (I know there are a few others who've used it)
