Would someone point me to the slow cooker oatmeal recipe I've seen here? Please?:)

Crockpot Oatmeal Recipe

2 cups steel cut oats (not instant or rolled oats)
6-8 cups water, depending on how long the oatmeal will cook
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 apples, peeled and diced
1 cup raisins
1 cup sliced bananas
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Spray crockpot with nonstick cooking spray. If you're planning to cook the oatmeal 8 hours or longer, use 8 cups of water. If you want to cook it less than 8 hours, use 6 cups of water. Put first seven ingredients (through raisins) in slow cooker and cook on low. Just before serving, Stir in bananas and walnuts. Sprinkle with additional brown sugar if desired.

I would add that mine burned when I cooked it for that long. I had mine on low/medium overnight (I turned it on at midnight and had dh turn it to low I think at 5:30am...it was already pretty burned around edges but still good!). I, of course, could mess up boiling water...

I sometimes use 9 grain and a bit more water than called for in the recipe. I add apples, raisins, cinnamon and other apple friendly spices, chopped walnuts, honey and sometimes butter. Cook all night on low and stir in the morning.

Sometimes in the morning if it's thick I add some milk. If not I add powdered milk though sometimes if someone wakes before me they eat it right away before it's even stirred so I suppose it's pretty flexible!

Oatmeal in the Crockpot

2 cup oats
5-6 cups water
1 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
2 cups half-n-half or heavy cream
1/2 cup brown sugar

Just before going to bed, combine everything but the half-n-half in the slow cooker. Set to Low, cover, and let cook overnight. In the morning, stir in the salt and half-and-half. Scoop into bowls and eat.

If I'm really feeling evil I add 4 tsp butter to it all, too. Then it's better than monkey bread and only about a million calories per serving.

Low 8-12 hours?
