Question About Reputation Points

I must not have been paying enough attention and can't find it now. I know green squares are good, but what are blue/grey squares?

Actually I do understand why they set it up this way though.

Thank you. Now one more question. How do I tell if they left positive or negative if they didn't leave a comment and there is just a blue/grey square? This is so confusing!
