What does bump mean?

i see it all the time on several posts.

Whenever a reply is posted to a thread, that thread goes back up to the top of page one. So people sometimes just post "bump" to keep their thread close enough to the top so that it will get replies. Otherwise, threads can quickly get lost in the many posts coming all the time.

It means that they are just trying to bump the original post back up to the top for more people to see. It is used most of the time when there hasn't been much of a response to a thread so they are trying again to get a response. HTH
