My ds (11th grader) has spent the last hour decompressing from the morning exam by playing video games. Other than thinking the exam not realizing how long the exam really was, his morning was uneventful. The room he tested in was the same as when he took the exam in 8th grade. He believes he had the same proctor too. The room was very quiet for him, other than for the girl sitting beside him chewing gum and blowing bubbles with her gum.

He's now off writing an essay for his AP Eng Lang course.

How did your kid fare?

Hi Carole!

Ds1 also took the SAT this morning. Other than saying he finished each section within the time, he hasn't commented specifically. He's studied hard and put himself under a bit of pressure, so I hope the score is solid. We'll see soon! He's out fishing right now and that, for him, is the best relaxation there is!

11th grade ds decompressed by watching TV, playing Ticket to Ride and shooting baskets. I think he'd like to decompress all weekend but has to work tonight. He also finished all the sections. He liked the essay topic. He's showing me a math problem now that he didn't get. Do you know how soon the scores are available?

My son took the test today, and now we're off to my youngest's piano recital, so there hasn't been much time for decompression or even hearing much about how it went. He did say that he was surprised at the announcement that there would be no eating, drinking or smoking during the test.

This is the first time we've done the SAT. How long does it take to get the results?

April 7th online:

*Due to enhancements to SAT registration and the launch of a new score-reporting process, scores from the March SAT administration will be available online beginning on Tuesday, April 7, and paper/CD-ROM reports will be mailed by April 21. This will ensure that scores are received and processed in a systematic, reliable fashion. May SAT scores will be reported, as scheduled, beginning on May 21.

DS is scheduled to take the ACT on April 4th so we won't know before he goes in for that one how he did on the SAT.

Thank you for posting that, Carole. I was so rattled trying to get out the door for the recital, I didn't think to, you know... look it up! We all must be rattled, because half way through the recital, my husband looked at me and whispered, "I think I know what might be wrong with the cake, why it looks funny. I forgot the sugar." So he rushed out to the reception room to snag it.

I remember waiting and waiting for my SAT scores. Times have changed!

Your welcome. It's just 4 weeks. I was thinking it would be 6 - 8 wks.
